1. What Headdown Is

Headdown is a Chrome browser extension that helps you stay focused by blocking distracting websites during work sessions. It is developed and maintained by an independent developer.

2. Data We Collect

Headdown does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All data created by Headdown is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API. This includes:

• Your session history and focus time statistics
• Your block list configuration and category preferences
• Your timer and session settings
• Notes you save using the Notes Canvas
• Your PIN (stored as a hash, never in plain text)

This data never leaves your device and is only accessible to the Headdown extension.

3. Google Account Data

Headdown offers an optional Google integration. If you choose to sign in with Google, Headdown requests access to the following scopes:

• calendar.readonly — to display upcoming calendar events in the extension
• calendar.events — to log completed focus sessions as calendar entries (optional feature)
• tasks — to display and sync your Google Tasks
• userinfo.email — to identify your account and display your name

Data fetched from Google (calendar events, tasks, your email address) is:

• Fetched directly from Google's APIs using your OAuth token
• Stored temporarily in chrome.storage.local on your device for display purposes
• Never transmitted to any server operated by Headdown or any third party

You can revoke Google access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Disconnecting from Google within the extension's Integrations settings will clear all locally stored Google data.

Headdown's use of Google user data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4. Slack and Discord

If you connect Slack or Discord, Headdown stores your webhook URL or token locally on your device and uses it solely to post status updates when you start or end a focus session. These tokens are never sent to any Headdown server.

5. No Analytics or Tracking

Headdown does not include any analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or usage tracking of any kind. We have no visibility into how you use the extension.

6. No Third-Party Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties. The extension makes no network requests to any server other than Google's APIs (when you have signed in) and the webhook endpoints you configure yourself (Slack, Discord).

7. Children's Privacy

Headdown is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the extension after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
